what hd camcorder? £100

I have a toshiba with 5x optical. Cheap thing for £130.00. Good enough for me. exacti might be slightly better spec but I believe the price is more (unless mistaken).

I have the CG10, great cheap HD camcorder and good quality, but horrible battery life. I bought mine 2nd hand off the bay, but continuous recording i only get 45 minutes.. so i bought a couple of 3rd party spares, which only lasts about 40 mins each.

is it better than the Kodak zi8?

I bought a Kodak and sent it right back. I got sucked in by the gimmick and to be totally honest with you the quality in comparison to my old canon ixus i800 IS was an eye opener.

My wife an I took a load of vids of our son moving around in indoor light and they where attrocius compared to our 3 year old ixus and next to each other they are almost the same size. Sure my ixus shoots at 640p but the newer ones shoot HD and are not much bigger or more expensive than a Zi8.

The build quality on the Zi8 is also ****. The doors and panels that flip open are weak compared to a compact camera that shoots HD.

I expected much better going by the reviews of the flip and kodak, both are pretty damn ****.

Go and size up a Zi8 against a new ixus that shoots HD and there's really no need to buy one of these inferior quality toys.

I stand corrected: I have one of these and not a Toshiba:

I think they changed it or updated to a different but same spec model. It is now called the Hitachi D36FT HD Pocket Camcorder. It is available at some retailers for less than £100 and you should have no difficulty in finding one.

Thanks. I picked up the Hitachi HV565E on ebay for £26. Bargain I thought. No one else was bidding so an easy steal ;)

Wow pretty good deal I would say ;)

Yeah I have to thank the England game for that. It was ending just after the football finished. So despite their poor performance they have done me proud :D

Anyone advise on a SDHC card? Does the qulaity matter for video? I use the ultra III cards for my digital camera but I have a Micro SD with an adaptor to fit a normal SDHC card. Will that be ok? Or do I need to buy a better one for recording HD video? It does come with a 4gig card anyway but I think I would need 8gig eventually.
