On my bi weekly look at Peugeot 306 gti6's and mr2s for potential purchase
I found this one and was amazed at the things people do to a fwd French hatchback

surely it isn't 370 hp though right?

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1776235.htm

imagine if it was 203hp on top of a already nippy car....
The bit about not driving unless you make a big deposit made me giggle too

Oh dear that must be absolutely ridiculous I bet it's fun for about 5 minutes then you go around a corner and mass understeer into a wall

what do you reckon that translates to in 0-60
based on a standard gti 6 being 167 hp and 7.5 ish to 60

No idea if it does or not, but id like to think its got a sporting chance being one of the best handling hot hatches of the 90s.

It probably won't get below 6 mainly down to traction. As for understeering into a wall, you can actually release the accelerator before the corner and the accelerator is not an on and off switch so death is not likely.

Still though more horsepower than a Ferrari 355 through front wheels isn't going to be good for your health I doubt

Just don't lift off mid corner! I used to have a 306 HDi and the lift off oversteer was bad enough in that. Great handling cars though, even my old HDi far out handled my Fabia vRS and even my mates Suzuki Swift Sport.

Thats the garage/guy who did the supercharger conversion on my Xsara VTS for the previous owner.

Im not sure how useable a high boost would be on the road, you might want R888s or similar to get the most out of it, I can give it full beans in all the gears in the dry, and all but first in the wet, so traction is excellent.

All the people complaining about lift off oversteer. I have never found it to be an issue in either my GTI-6 or in the VTS, only if you read the corner incorrectly and find you have to lift off could it be a problem. If your rear suspension and beam mounts are shagged it obviously wont help matters.

If I had the money spare and had the option of going high boost (3k) I would rather improve the car as a whole than give it a load more power.

Full aftermarket management, 330mm Renaultsport Brembo calipers with bells+rotors, Tran-X LSD, then solid rear beam mounts, 30mm rear arb, and KW v2 coilovers.

Oh and there is a 450bhp one knocking around with a larger supercharger installed! :o

For that sort of power (which I doubt it makes) I'd want an lsd, uprated brakes and better tyres than P6000's though.

It certainly makes the power.

There are probably 20+ supercharged cars out there now both low and high boost
