Anyone else happy oldschool 2d games are becoming popular again?

That Shank looks cool! Trine 2 also. Most of this games will be psn/ live arcade titles anyway?

Compared to the modern day titles they dont really offer anything!

Really? Bionic Commando: Rearmed, New Super Mario Bros and the new Sonic are all modern day titles, they may be more obviously based on our gaming heritage than other titles but even fps's, rpg's and racing games etc have roots going back to the 80s and 90s. Most of these new 2d games are not re-makes but are instead are just done in a certain style that was popular in the past but also include modern day gaming elements not possible on much older hardware - they may look old-school but they are still modern games.

Anywho, I'm really enjoying the new 2d & other old-school games that have been coming out whereas there are plenty of modern day titles I don't like, but that's my taste :)

Would like to know if it has any nostalgia feel to it as DK was my most played game on the snes.

It’s not on out till 3rd of next month but I played it at the London Game Expo. Plays like the Snes versions but I don’t think it will be as good, that’s my personal opinion from the few levels I played.
