Managed to get a late deal on a holiday to Egypt leaving at the end of this month.

However, both of the recommended jabs are supposed to be had 3 months before and 10 days before, for Hepatitis A and Typhoid, respectively.

Long and short of it: Are we going to die if we don't get poked? :p

Short answer, yes.

Both Hep A and Typhoid are blatant airbourne viruses over there, basically you will be at severe risk as soon as you step off the plane.

:( What's the answer though? Cancel the holiday?

Phone and ask a clinic?

Have, need to book an appointment with the nurse, earliest on Friday, and we leave he following Tuesday

There's an NHS website somewhere that tells you what you need for what place, i was advised to look at that by the nurse at my GP's, however for the life of me i can't remember it. It said what jabs are essential and what ones aren't but may be beneficial and separates by area within the country. I pretty much didn't need any to go to the area of Sri lanka i was heading.

When i went to Egypt however (sometime ago and my memory isn't the greatest) i don't think i had my hep jab 3 months before hand. Had them both at same time as well i believe. Also had the top up jab when i got back to to extend the life of the vaccination. However looking at the times you've given you're probably pushing it.

My response was a joke. Neither of those viruses are airbourne. Ask your GP is the best bet.

This is why medical threads aren't allowed on here, would have been funny if he cancelled his holiday tho lol.

Ask you're GP, although you are not required to have any injection, I have been to egypt once with work so got the full spectrum with boosters to 10-20yrs for most of them :)

Go to your GP, he/she wil fix you out, but it will cost.

DO NOT GO WITHOUT GETTING THE RIGHT JABS!!!!!!

Also, stay away from mummies.. they will follow you back to the UK, seen it in a movie.
