PlayStation 3 Update 3.40

lol... I did some playing with my leccy meter and my whole house on standby uses less than £100 a year.... The electric shower uses 1.50 an hour though...:( Need to have quick showers i think..
 
my mate turns everything off at the plugs everynight, one day i started giving him grief about it, he says did you know the ps3 uses more power in standby than a fridge freezer :rolleyes:

why you giving grief to someone who is trying to save money and the environment? its just good practice to turn off items your not using - are people getting to lazy that they cant flick a simple switch now?
 
I just hope this automatic firmware feature ensures you dont appear online like PlayTV recording does - everyone thinks Im around when Im not and Im recording most of the WC games...

Doubt it. It will just appear as if you are online normally. I think the PS3 needs an option to sign in as appear offline, like on MSN. I know you can change your status to Unavailable when you're signed in, but it really needs a feature that ensures you sign in stealthed.

You'd think they could sort it to change your status to Away at least.

Think it's triangle over your profile in friends list to bring up the menu?


But when PlayTV turns on the console to record, it should auto put you into Away. Or just not sign in at all as it doesn't need to be.

I meant sign in as Away! I turned it on then went in another room to watch TV. :p
