Is it just me or is £3.90 (for an hour) expensive? Junior is priced at £2

I seem to remember when it was a quid or so!!


What's everyone else's prices like?

All those years of ****ing in it means they've had to spend more money on chlorine.

Looking at the local pool it is £3.50 for public swim and £3.70 for adults only (sessions are 1hr). This is also in the Milton Keynes area.

£4 quid here but thats for as long as you like (in a laned pool) but all the pools round here are free for U16/O65

Cons are scrapping the scheme. U16s and O65s will soon have to pay.

Think it's £2.20 (or is it £3.20) but don't think theres a limit for how long you can stay in for that.

£26 peak gym membership includes swimming, jacuzzi and steam room etc.

Bout the same here.

I'm more annoyed about the cost to use our local running track...... £3.50 for an hour Just to get the use of a 400m Track. Obviously no-one uses it.

Lol harsh but true. I found them to be a right pain when i used to go swimming, with the one half of the pool with actual lanes always full and the other half of the pool taken up by pensioners. They would leisurely swim back and forth (often not in a very straight line) so you couldn't do any 'proper' swimming through risk of slapping them in the face accidentally. I gave up in the end lol.

I think the price for an adult used to be £1-2 can't remember tbh.

£22 a month for swim membership at my local leisure centre, no idea how much a casual ticket is.

your being ripped off, i paid £1.50 for a lifestyle card and get free swimming in any of the pools around here.

3 quid if your between 16 and 65, free if not here in Wellingborough, although this is being stopped in the great save some cash race.

However I do get in free under employee benefits, go 3 times a week at lunch.

Edit: I also am starting to get irritated with some of the >65s standing at the end of the medium speed lanes chatting away.

Indeed, almost as bad as the ones in the fast lane swimming slower than the slow lane and being totally ignored by the lifeguards

Managed to sort out a deal for £20 for next month for unlimited swims.


Can't wait to get back to uni, free swimming and gym and I'll be about 200m from it.
