Ok so the plan is work over the summer and build myself a new computer over the summer bit by bit starting with the monitors since im borrowing one from my dad at the moment. I would like to have 2 x 22" monitors as i find its just much easier to work with the dual monitor setup. And as its going to be my only source of media i will need a hdmi input so i can plug my 360 in to it.

I will be using the computer mostly for gaming and programming and a little work using 3DS Max and the UDK. Listening to music and all the usual things that students use their comptuers for (watching tv etc) I already have an operating system because uni is part of MSAA.

I would like it to be as small and quiet as possible i quite liked the look of the "Quantum Cobalt" (is this future proof or would i be looking at lots of new hardware in a years time) but would rather have something a little bigger as i want to be able to upgrade in the future but still quite like the idea of sff maybe a mATX system, however i do really like the look of the Lian Li A05.

I tend to use quite a lot of storage so would like at least 1 maybe 2TB of HDD

So basically what i would kinda like is

Lian Li V351 or Lian Li A05
2TB HDD
2 x 22" Monitors

Or something based on the Quantum Colbalt depending on upgradability
A link to the Quantum Colbalt Link

Models and stuff is all up to you guys, i used to think i was so sure of what i wanted but the more i look at components the more my head is spinning

the monitors are place holders only
i would suggest a modular PSU if you are building in a m-atx case
if you plan on overclocking, i suggest you look at 3rd party coolers for your CPU

Thats a nice spec, Going over isnt much of an issue as im buying it bit by bit, im just trying to get a good idea of where to go.
I mean complete top end is about 1500, but its always nice to have a buffer, first thing im going to buy will be the monitors as i can use my current PC with them.

You dont have to drop the aftermarket cooling if your not overclocking, I dont overclock and Im using a megahalems.

Shameful bump here mostly because i will be able to get the first components in the next week or so.

I have managed to squeeze out another 300 pounds as well which makes it a £1500 budget now.

All i really want from the PC is to play the latest games comfortably, and also be quiet, so case isnt all that important, I also just bought a 1TB external drive so wont need as much internal storage, and Hard drives are something i can upgrade as and when.

That comes in at £1562 inc VAT

An SSD for me is essential I have a system very similar to this and then added an SSD and the thing just feels like I've done a clean install every day! So something to add in the future maybe.

This spec (with an SSD) would be a BEAST that would last you for a very long time for all of the tasks that you do. IMO, you wouldn't have to change anything on that for years to come, maybe buy another GFX card and go crossfire in the future.

OR.....you could just go for this...

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-030-OE

And upgrade to 5850 and add an Intel X25-M 80GB SSD wihhc will total it to: £1238.69 (change the HDD also to the Samsung F3 so call it £1250) then add your 2 monitors and ur looking at £1550 for a pre-overclocked, very neatly put together machine (LOADS of effort put into the build at OCUK) with a great gfx card and an SSD!

Both options are epic if I had to choose, seeing as ur not really saving LOTS of money for buying it prebuilt, I would choose the Goliath setup. But you said you were buying it part by part so.....

Ok so i have looked at all the specs and came up with a bit of a hash up of all of them combined with quiet air cooling because im not too sure about the h50... Just me being paranoid Just gonna pop it here see what you guys think

Just transport mainly. Coming from Middlesbrough to W-S-M each term

edit:

TBH im just not clued up about W/C and have always liked air because of its simplicity.

If you don't mind an AMD option, here's what I chose...

If you can find an extra 4 inches, I'd suggest getting those panels. With that budget, and if your not going to be overclocking, AMD is an awesome alternative.

why you coming here to weston? you know it looks like a building site at the moment? the seafront has been flattened, the pier isnt ready, its all FAIL
