I would just like to point out its not me. I have worked since 17 years old and never claimed one thing in my life :p

I was just wondering if people can get caught even if they have stopped doing it now. I know someone that claimed all their childcare allowance and also for additional things for being a single parent living alone in rented accomodation whilst living with her boyfriend in another house. The rented house was then rented out again to someone else.

They have stopped doing it now but could they still be done for it or do they need to catch them in the act?

grass. you are worse than them for stealing.

It would be really nice if people would use proper sentences when making posts, instead of sentence fragments.

For example, the reader here doesn't know whether you're advocating being a "grass", or saying that to be a "grass" is worse than theft, because of this extremely lazy posting style :p

He also doesn't know whether I am asking because a friend might get in trouble for doing it or if I want to `grass` on someone.

Either way you should grass on them and any other benefit cheats - think of it like helping to reduce the defect.

Wouldn't she let you smash her pasty then, Don't be bitter just go smash her Mums instead. :D

It's going to hard to prove now.

Also what's the point in renting out a house that you're renting from the council? Just seems like a load of hassle and risk for very little reward.

You would have to find quite a few people to do that. You dont work for the government do you? :p

That doesnt answer my question though. Could they still get in trouble even after stopping doing it?

The rented house was owned by the boyfriend. So she was living there which got paid by the benfits claim, and the house was rented out again to someone else. So they got two lots of rent for it.

who is it going to help by grassing on them ? will it give you a little ego boost since you dont have any friends ?

Just forget it. You should have said something at the time.

I'm guessing your thinking of reporting her now for personal reasons rather than because it weighing on your moral continence.

It helps the people who pay for lazy, lying, **** that claim money they're not entitled too.

Give it a rest Radox, for all you know he's worried about his friend getting caught for something she has now stopped doing.

It's ok he is entitled to his opinion. Maybe the subject is striking a little too close to home for his liking ;)

Wouldn't they just question the person renting the house from them during that time?

nope, I'm just one of those net contributors in the south east who's tax payments subsidise the rest of the UK

who cares - just report the useless bint and let the authorities deal with her

If you know who they are, where they can be found and convince them to speak up maybe.

If it can be proved and people are prepared to provide statements/evidance etc they can still be prosecuted. It's proving it that's the problem and it's much easier if someone’s caught in the act.

Everyone who pays their taxes and is watching the country go down the tube because of our horrific economy and government overspending....... them maybe?

Why on earth should it be ok to steal and lie to get more money, this utterly idiotic idea that its not really hurting anyone, no, it really is, its hurting everyone, even the benefits frauds because if the country keeps going downhill and our debt keeps going up, at some point we won't be able to afford to pay out the normal benefits people actually deserve/need, rather than the extra's they are stealing.
