Rec'd my 360 slim today..

I am pleased to say this thing is super quiet.. Even quieter than my PS3 Slim.. Aesthetically it's actually a lot more impressive in real than from the all the youtube video's

Even with a disc spinning it's quieter than an old 360 in idle... Even so, I've still installed all my games..

I'll be honest, though I had an original 360, it never was used much because the noise annoyed the heck out of me.. The day I heard they were releasing a new slim 'quiet' version, I placed my order.. Today it turned up...

It does run hot, but no hotter than a PS3.. It's also much smaller than a PS3, so i'm not complaining about the external power supply..

Well done Microsoft.. If there's one bad thing I can say about it, is why the long wait?? It should have come a couple of yrs ago..
 
can you post some pics as i cant find any online anywhere :)

Edit: any decent ones not just normal ones none of them seem to show its size properly

Because they had to wait until ps3 had done it first and then slightly altered their design ;)
 
Im getting mine when they are released here next month. How do you go about transferring everything from hard drive to hard drive with it.
 
my ex e74 xbox aint let me down yet, its running nice and cold with the fans modded to stay at 12V, oh nice and loud yes but nice and cool also.

Wonder how long it takes for these to RROD lol

Never :P They've taken out the RROD indicator to show you that something is wrong :P Instead i think a light shows and also they auto-shutdown when it overheats and notifies you of why its shutting down.

so does this automatic shutdown backup your game progress before shutting down? i can see this being a big annoyance if your playing for a long time then this pops up and you lose your progress, even worse if its during a save and you lose your data (but i suppose no where near as bad as if it RROD's and you lose your console :D)
 
Hahaha.....ahh it's typical isn't it. My 360 dies so I buy a super elite, one week later the slim is out :)

Nevermind I wouldn't use any of the features as I don't have good enough internet, kinect doesn't interest me and I hate black gloss. Would have loved the quietness of it though. The only reason I got a 250gb HD was so that I could install all my games to keep the stupid thing quiet.

Massive improvement over my original 360 anyway :)

Do the super elites have a 3 year warranty, is it just the slims that only have 1 year?
 
I think after the one billion dollar boo boo, Microsoft will have made sure this time they've done a proper job !!!!

This new slim 'feels' like quality, unlike the original bag of bolts, they knocked up. Can't believe how silent the thing is.. Half the noise of a PS3, which is already very quiet.

speak for yourself, my 360s build quality is like a brick ****house, only thing is its BLOODY noisy when a disk is in, like unbelievably! its a good two or three times as loud as my mates and his is older...:rolleyes: so i wouldn't get your hopes up about the new one :)
 
Lots of videos on youtube i seen and the noise difference wasn't that different form the normal 360, certainly when the dvd drive gets going its just as noisy.
