Issue at Restaurant

Problem with them calling the police is that they don't actually need to - they can eject you for any reason whatsoever (which is good when a restaurant genuinely needs to). But of course they wouldn't do that as then they wouldn't get any money.

reminds me of a time in Plymouth when my family was thrown out, and mum pushed in the back, by the **** of an owner but that's a story on its own. The police turned up and basically told everyone to go home as it's their word versus ours etc. We didn't pay much and the restaurant has since closed. Not entirely sure why ;)

My mum got arrested once after an altercation in a restaurant on my birthday. But I suspect that may have been because she was hammered and was done for drunk and disorderly outside rather than the thing in the restaurant.

I love bringing that story up when my mum gets a bit too big for her boots.

Sounds a terrible restaurant. I really don't understand why business's do this. Do they not understand that reputation and word of mouth are the most powerful things. And what would have cost them the profit on 1 meal they will now lose the custom of potentially thousands of customers who read this site and any review sites the OP wishes to post his experience.

With my business we had a problem with our systems and a order was delayed by a week. For this I knocked £30 off the order meaning we only broke even on the sale. I got a email from the customer thanking me for the discount and that he would recommend me to his friends and that he would order again.

Haa the irony of it being called "chor bazaar" , Anyone with a bit of hindi will get that one?

Surely its an offense to walk out without paying?
Is it ok as long as you leave your contact details?

All the consumer shows advise that if you have a disagreement with a restaurant and refuse to pay, never just walk out as they can accuse you of stealing. Leaving your details means that you cannot be accused of this. Sounds like OP dealt with the awful Chor Bizarre of London in the right manner.

Thankfully, I've never had an experience like the OP had in the Chor Bizarre, and hopefully, I never will.

With there being so much competition with restaurants (especially in cities), it seems madness they got it so wrong on the customer service side.

There are a few review sites on the web (two came up right away when putting 'Chor Bizarre' into Google), it might be worth putting your story on them.

That is unbelievable.

I'm simply flabbergasted that people would be treated in this manner in a restaurant in London or anywhere else in this country.

Absolutely disgusted that a manager and even wife of manager could act in such a churlish manner in front of everyone.

I feel sorry for the wedding reception there too.

I lol'd so hard:P

Id be going onto every review and comparison site :D

I will stay away from the Chor Bizarre in London as it the service and food sounds bad!!!

I just got a call from the Restaurant Liaison Manager at Taste London, who was very apologetic even though the terrible customer service was not their fault. They are investigating my complaint with the restaurant manager and will get back to me as soon as possible.

I am glad that something is being done. Even though it probably won't benefit me, at least it might stop other customers receiving similar service.

With any luck you'll get a letter through the post informing you they've had their knees capped and business razzed, on pink paper with a little gay watermark.
