So I was considering dying my hair and I thought I'd ask a few questions on my favourite, fun loving open minded forum :p

Really worth going to a salon etc over buying a home kit? (I want to dye my dark blonde hair all blonder)

Any recommendations on kits to buy?

Any horror stories?

Some member on heres room mate tryed to dye his hair from black to peroxide white, so he started using the peroxide, his scalp was burning but he kept to it and eventually got it white. He decided to go to the pharmacy and get some blonde hair die to highlight it. He opened the dye, followed the instructions. when he got out of the shower his hair was pitch black.

turns out his roomate switched the inards of the dye box with black dye :p

Yeah, I heard if you dye your hair and you're a bloke, it turns you into a gay. Then you get the bad AIDS. Enjoy your trip to the salon. :(
It's 2010, when are people going to grow up and get past these stupid hang ups. There's nothing gay about a man dying his hair........so long as he's going to have a sex change. The Craig, when are you getting the old chap chopped off? If that dye hits a single hair on your head before you're de-schlonged it'll drop off right there in the salon. Very embarrassing.

I remember bleaching my hair with a kit when I was in my early teens and it didn't go so well, I got the nickname 'Goldie Locks' for a while. Get it done in a salon, or else you will just make a mess.

Jan 2009, over a year.

You have no excuse.

:D:D:D.

Ok, go to the salon to get it done. Pay your money and they should be able to get the effect you want. If the jokes become unbearable then you also have someone to blame.

You also might want to ease in to it a bit and get it done gradually over time so there is not so many big shock reactions. Having said that, if you are not really bothered what others say and lets face it, posting that sort of question to GD would tend to indicate you are not :), then just go for it and set a new, old, new trend again.

We welcome the return of the new romantics ;).

I went from dark brown to black about 3 years ago for the summer holidays. Ruined the feel of my hair and I had to wait three months at cut it all out. Back au Natural and my hair has never been better. Ze womanz love to run their hands through it.

relax, the chicks dig it - my hair is dark still but my beard has a lot of grey/white in it and I have to fight them off (or let the wife do it)

That's just being married! Chicks dig married guys... when I was with the ex, it was the same thing! I swear, the wedding ring is like a female's seal of approval; if you're good enough for one of them, then you're good enough for any of them...

Hmm, maybe I need to start wearing it again! :-P
