Getting let to watch the football at work.

Work has a big flatscreen upstairs but since we're a physical shop we can't all **** off and watch it hoping no one will notice :[

I've got to start work at the kickoff too so no chance of getting a convenient break in either.

Work has set up a massive 5m x 5m screen outside in the terrace area, will be screening the afternoon and evening games, have a BBQ, dj in the eve, and other stuff.

My colleagues and I are being allowed to leave at 2 to go to a colleague's who lives nearby to watch and booze it up.

:D

If you want to watch the game during shift time here you had to request the time as holiday, sit and watch it on-site in the canteen, then return to work immediately afterwards.

I just don't get why people should get the 'day' off to watch a football game
Football is on all year around. Your at work. You can record it or use catch up or whatever.

though like say if you work in a car garage as a sales man. No one is going to be out buying a car if the game is on (well not many people if any :P)

We finish at 2.55 here anyway; though we're allowing the kids to leave a bit earlier. That means I'll definitely be home for 3! :)

My employer saw it as a way to reduce sickness and holidays and enhance the working life of their employees ;)

I have just comendered the board room and have set up a nice 1080p projector and screen for the few people that are unlucky enough to be stuck in the office today.

It could be far worse mind we have a few sofas to sit on and beer and snacks.
