The worst phone I've ever had is the
Samsung F700, hands down. Looked impressive online, but was infuriating to use. Best thing about it was auctioning it off for £160 a year later.
The touchscreen was horribly unresponsive. The UI was really laggy and not at all intuitive - as if they'd just taken the OS from a non-touch phone and added a few icons and swipe motions to it. It took far too many presses to do anything - about five to start composing a text. Keyboard was a big disappointment - the keys were too small, awkwardly shaped and offered too much resistance - I was faster on T9. Rubbish MP3 player - had to be coaxed to play albums in the right order. Browser was a slow, incompetent joke. 90% of photos were blurry - not that it usually mattered, since by the time the shutter finally went off the moment was generally gone. Plasticky, poor battery life and lacked wi-fi.
Now my brother has the Tocco Lite. Whilst the interface has got better, the touchscreen hasn't.
Best phones I've had are the Nokia 3210, the SE K700i and the iPhone. The 3210 was built like a tank, the battery lasted ages and the keypad was brilliant for texting. K700i was really reliable with a highly usable interface and a great camera for its time. And in spite of the many valid complaints about the iPhone, nothing comes close for UI or build quality, and as an application platform.
