my new house please

thanks :-)

No idea, I can say though, that after having Sky for over a decade I am going to cancel it as there's hardly ever anything on I want to watch and it's just not worth the £40+ pm

jbuk, for what they offer i dont think you can get better, there c.service is 2nd to none, you ring them and they answer with in 15-20 secs of that. broadband bandwith never flutters a eyelid, i got 300kbs per sec on a 2mb download, it flicks about from 191 to 200 but it get comfy near to 200 on a long download.

if you dont pay the bill they let you go 2 months with out a word and this happened to me after losing my job start of the year,

for line rental is £11 ok not the cheapest out there BUT you get your internet cheaper you get unlimited download and up to 20mb connection, which is infact changing soon to £7.50. and i find it easyer being on one bit of paper from one company

also bt was £30 a month for the same service plus line rental on top.

im not a sky worker or any thing like that i just thing for cost v c.service v reliability i think sky is the best. a mate went with a cheap broadband provider, always moaning at me about there problem with the internet is slow, or they have to continually reset the router! and download speeds drop to like 50/60 kbps some times!

so i do think there worth it

so i do think there worth it

I've no doubt that many do feel it's worth it but for me it isn't, I only watch and the odd movie and maybe one or two programmes a week that are not on freeview , I think I would be better off cancelling and buying a freesat HD recorder & upgrading my account on Lovefilm

I wish I only gave sky £40 a month,
Full TV package including espn + HD +internet i was giving them around £70 a month when i was in the UK. Its down to £30 at the moment as i didnt want to cancel my Broadband and have to try and get it enabled again when I get back to the UK and you have to have a TV contract to ge tere internet.

Good thing about sky is I can turn it back on for the month im going to be back in the UK and it will be up and running within the hour, then turn it all back down to minimium levels again when i head back out to Korea.

start with the basic packages and add movies/sport packages if needed later on, sky always send you out offers after the first month or so with the first 3 months to these packages being half price. thats if you want them. sky movies isnt really worth paying for i just pay for the odd movie on box office. also check your internet speed with them and make sure sky broadband is available in your area, a friend of mine has to ay extra for the internet because they can only offer him sky connect. Hd + is still not really worth getting due to the lack of real hd programs. i would just get the sky+ packages if you want to pay a sensible amount.

Disagree on the HD, its allot to pay if you arent getting movies and sports as well (£10 a month) but they have plenty of programing now on sky1 and the other channels.
I wouldnt be without HD now.

Look on hotukdeals and search sky. Theres a half price sky package and free hd pack. Getting mine installed today and it's only costing me £9 a month. You can very likely add bb at a later date.

see hd for me looks pants, mother in law has it with a expencive lead and a big 42" lcd tv, looks fuzzy still to me, i couldnt condone the extra, and to watch every day programmes non hd is fine with me.

you dont need sky to have broadband, just costs £5 more. and them movies are just repeats from this year and last, which seem to take for ever to get updated. i just buy the odd decent film from box office. as it beats a drive in to town to blockbusters and is cheaper any how!

Don't make the rookie mistake I did and order a BT line and then agree to Sky taking over your phone line. I got billed £82 by BT for cancelling within contract even though it was only active for a few days before Sky took it over. Grrrr

well, thats strange. i got told i had a 14 day cooling of period, but saying that i suppose that would have been from the day of request. they love to shaft you

well ive sorted it all now :) one phone call sorted phone number being transferred to new address, broadband no idea how good the netgear router they supply is but i'll give it a bash and got a free HD + box not really bothered about the monthly cost cos its was all easily sorted :) thanks for the help guys

Disagree completely tbh, firstly we have:

Continued innovation - new boxes pvr developments HD and now 3d.

Best movies sports and news channels available.

The FTA channels just show the same old movies over and over such as simple plan with bill paxton or last action hero etc.

As for the increases in price thats because it gets better year on year, you cant compare it to things like broadband that has fixed costs and thus allows the price to come down as more users come on board, sky have to pay for all those sports rights salarys and expensive movie deals such as avatar etc.

Give me a break, go and buy a HD ready 40 inch set used from an aution site for about £200 and then tell me there isn't a massive difference in quality between sd sky and sky hd thats nearly tripled its hd channel count since launch,

lol theres new premieres every week, the extra movie channels were added a year or so ago to accomadate the back catalogue of movies.

lol ok so your gonna buy movies from the box office service in sd at £5 a pop when you can get hd for £10 a month (until the extra charge is scrapped) and a free movie trial from lovefilm or whoever.
