2 phones being delivered by error, returning one?

I ordered a contract iphone 4 online this morning and the transacton didnt go through so i called telesales.
The woman confirmed that the web sale hadnt gone through and she processed an order over the phone for saturday delivery.

4hrs later and ive had emails about the web order saying its now been processed and will be delivered tomorrow (money for the cost of the phone also taken from credit card). Confirmed by phone that its gone through.

I was told by orange customer services to return one and the contract etc would be cancelled.

Is the best bet to refuse to sign for one of these so the phone gets returned to orange????.
I dont really want to sign for both phones and have the hassle of returning one myself.

Can you identify which phone you need to keep? And does it matter, ie is one phone linked to the cancelled order and the other to the live one so it won't work if you accept the wrong phone?

Customer services said they cant cancel any orders at the moment so they will both be live.
I can identify which is the web order and which is the telesales as the web order is being delivered tomorrow and the telesales saturday

It seems my only option is to accept the web order one tomorrow and refuse the telesales one on saturday??.

I hope they don't expect you to cough up for shipping it back to them. Best call them back and clarify it.

Vodafone shipped me 2 x Omnia I900 instead of one , this was 18 months ago

They never did ask for the second one back

or you could play it by ear and keep them both until if/when they ask for one to be returned. the above id did that and still has it 18 months later.

I need to send one back because ive paid for 2, and 2 monthly contracts have been setup!!. A real balls up by orange.

I have done this before with Orange shipping - simply tell the courier you are NOT accepting the package and he needs to return it, you will not be charged for the return shipping.

I'd also follow up in 48hrs to confirm it's canceled. I'm sorry to CSR lied to you, they should have known that orders are processed in a queue (it was iphone day so there was a big one) and it might take a while for that day.
