Were running some daft competitions at work and to win people have to ring up and sing a song or something equally daft. We'd like to put these on our website if possible but need to know how to record the land line?

We'll make sure to ask permission first and can add it into the terms and conditions that competition conversations may be recorded.

Thanks.

Thanks, will pick one up on my way home tonight

Be curious to where this stands legally.

As daft as it sounds its illegal to record someones voice without consent unless for specific reasons, e.g. FSA regulated.

Cant see it being a problem providing we ask them before putting it on the website?

Suppose it depends on what phone system you have.

The most basic way would be to tape a mic inside or near the earpiece of the handset. If you have a digital telephony system you could route it via a digital recorder first, but then you'd have to selectively press record if you don't want to record every conversation.
