tvcatchup... usable over 3G?

We have a family get together penciled in on sunday, only problem is that is at carsington water (i.e. by a lake, not by a telly) and I want to watch the match...

should I trust tvcatchup over 3G? right now at work it plays 10 seconds then freezes, although that could be the signal here...

3G at Carsington Water...in the Peak District? Good luck with getting 3G!

It does work over a good 3G signal though...
 
yeah, since my original post, I've left it running on BBC 1... 5 bars of 3G and every few minutes there is some juddering and loads of artefacts then generally sorts itself out - far from perfect so I don't think I'm going to risk is further out in the sticks...

Can't wait for technology to have advanced enough to have care free streaming of HD video over mobile broadband... nowhere near yet tho I'm afraid...

How do :)

So... used it at Carsington Water and the service was almost as annoying as the result!

Basically, had luvly fast 3G (no problems at all browsing, all very nice and quick) - the stream loaded within a couple of seconds and the picture was good, however thats where the thumbs up ends, the picture and audio would freeze every couple of minutes requiring you to back up to the channels listing and go back in again :(

Shame really as there is such potential, not sure if this was a BBC problem, a network problem (doubtful) or a TVCatchup problem.
