BF2 Bad Company 2 + ATI 5970 Woes

Hi

Anyone having problems with BF2 Bad Company 2 and the ATI 5970 (Cat 10.6) crashing back to desktop on launching the game or not even launching at all ? I just got the card and this started , so not sure if its the Cat version or I need to reinstall the game (I bought it on Steam)

Any advice would be helpful as always

Trying that now thanks . Although when I tried uninstalling the 10.6 , I got a blank screen and had to reset the PC after 5 minutes as the desktop never returned .....
 
That seemed to do the job alright , will test a bit later as i need to head out for a bit .

Well going back to 10.5 fixed my crashing issues , thanks guys ! Anyone know why it keeps running the 'performing first time setup' every time I launch the game ?
 
It started doing this after I installed the 10.2's a few months ago and the CCC kept failing to install. I had to download a patch for C+++ and run it then install the cats again . Since then I get this stupid warning each time I launch the game ..

That also happened to me when uninstalling 10.5, but after the reboot it was ok.
 
Good old catalysts installs ;) I'm sure most problems are because ati seems to think if someone installing an older driver set keeping random files installed from the previous set because it's a newer file revision -_-
