The instructor must have been pretty pants!
I would hope the car is still with the dealership with it being repaired as a matter of priority on Monday morning, with the car getting a free valet for the inconvience (failing that some refund on the MOT/service cost), and that in the meantime they've given you a cracking courtesy car to drive around in....?

Well, I spoke too soon. I know have a judder in the rear wheel at motorway speeds. Could the wheel have been knocked so hard that it came out of balance?
I'd doubt it given the relatively light damage.
Unlucky none the less.

Win win surely?
The only snag is that this isn't actually the dealerships fault, is it? A customer did it. So I doubt they'll be bending over backwards to shower with you with compensation, why should they? It's a straight forward claim against a third party insurer. You might have some leverage if they wish to keep it out of insurance, though - if they suggest this by all means let them as they've got the cars to lend you and the bodyshop to do the work..
I dunno mate, to my mind, wheels are designed to take quite a number of forces, shocks being one of them.
