If you where a millionaire , where would you live?

I would move to my small holding in Austria and retire. I'd buy two neighbouring properties and set work to making it into an estate with fields and lakes. I'd spent my days with my girlfriend (soon wife) reading, going for walks, visiting friends, cooking, watching my kids grow up, etc. Heaven.

Flat in London - not sure I'd stay out east as I only live here mainly for the walk to work

Definitely would have somewhere in Paris as well and would love a cottage in St Ives. I know it's tourist central but I loved it down there when I went last summer.

As far away from Lincolnshire as possible somewhere without chavs would be nice. A small village on the Cornwall coast would do me for summer and a holiday home somewhere warm during winter time.

I could watch my kids grow up,chill, read loads maybe write a book. Not to much to ask in life is It. With money comes power, without It comes **** all.

Incredible place. I lived in Bergen for 18 months.

Ive heard nice things about Norway. Did you work there for 18mos? Whats it like living in Norway? What are the people like, did you have to learn the language or is it easy to manage without doing so? Id like to visit Norway one day.

Disney World Florida.

No really. I was thinking about it the other day, its like a perfect idyllic little self contained universe. Its very clean and has some beautiful areas, plus you've got the theme park!

Same place I live now - London

Probably the same area of London too - albeit in a slightly fancier property.

Additional homes in Switzerland, South of France and Surrey (or any a county just outside greater London) would be nice too...

Canana, some nice part of America (New York State, Colorado, etc.), Austria, Switzerland, etc.

Not quite decided, but I'm sick to my back teeth of this country and its urban sprawls.

With £1m: Eastbourne, possibly, or at least somewhere on the south coast. Yes, that's UK. I'd probably buy a house there, pay off my mortgage here, and then carry on knowing that if I ever lost my job I'd not have to worry about it.

With a few million, maybe Vancouver, BC, or San Fran, or Sydney.

To all those wanting to live in the Highlands, or in the middle of nowhere, how would you cope with illness, or retirement, or if you couldn't drive for whatever reason?

I'm not suggesting it'd be difficult - especially not if you've got a healthy bank balance - but there's a lot to be said for having shops, doctors, and all that stuff within easy access.

Rather odd point - people do live perfectly normal lives in the highlands etc.. already and I'd think that having a few million would likely be an advantage.

Average age of the forums is likely fairly low anyway but by definition, if you're a multi millionaire, you don't really have many worries about retirement.
