The current female ref isn't the best it doesn't mean they all are. Sure there will be less that meet the required high standard but it wouldn't be fair because there are probably some women that would be up to the job.

Then again it is a male sport, we don't have girl refs or linesmen in football.

I am pretty sure we do. In the Conference leagues there are females as refs/assistant refs. One of them even refereed a Championship game after the ref got injured
