Hey,

I seem to have an injured bird in my garden. What do I do? Parents are away and I don't know any vets etc.

Think its got a broken leg as its been hopping about, I've seen if fly but only short distances. Been here about 2 days now and I'm getting worried. :(

Sensible replies only please.

Leave it alone. Its nature. It will get eaten or survive and leave in its own time.
Getting involved will only make things worse for you and the bird involved.

Well I would leave it, as I have for the past couple days but it's attracting flies now and is looking rather poorly. It's just lying down on its side.

I would get a vet but I don't have a lot of money, I don't even know if they charge for that?

It's a blackbird.

There's bread and water out.

Lol. Just leave it if it's lying down. It won't last long. Sounds harsh but thats how things work... Tis only a blackbird.

I know, I think I should really just put it out its misery though..

Do that then.

Sometimes nature needs our help too.

Call the RSPCA, they'll arrive and take the bird away.

For a common garden bird? :/

So you want someone to come out in a van, put it in a box, take it back with them, anaesthetise it, put its leg in a splint I guess if its hopping around and then hope it's not dead already from all the shock?

That's a lot of trauma for a tiny animal in pain, just leave it be or put it out of its misery. Some stuff just doesn't need our intervention.
