Ok, so I bought this when it was £7.50, from what I've played so far it looks like a decent game. Been alternating between controller and mouse/keyboard, mouse feels wierd because it locks your horizontal rotation to a limited speed when you're moving, and the controller seems more natural. Anyway, the very first big fight where you see the African zombie person with the loud speaker, and the big guy with the axe, and you get trapped and you're waiting for some guy to come rescue you or something, I can't do it!

At first I thought it was because it was on hard, but I turned it down to normal (had to restart the level), and I tried 5 more times and can't be bothered anymore. I think I'm a good gamer, but this is ridiculous for the first proper fight in the game. It doesn't help that half the time it's your AI friend that dies because she didn't run away from the guy with the massive axe, it seems to go on for way too long, and when you're out of ammo which happens pretty fast, you pretty much have to run around in circles because the melee swing sucks today donkey balls.

This is not fun.

Am I doing anything wrong or is this how most of the game is? Thanks.

EDIT: Oh, and when you die you have to watch an unskippable cut-scene of infected Africans stomping on your face. Nice.

It can be quite difficult for first timers when the big guy with the axe/hammer breaks the fence down make a dash for it out the gate turn left and head up the ladder to the top of a small building go inside and climb another ladder to the very top from this vantage point the zombies can only enter from 2 ways making it easier to kill them the big guy is to big to get up here. fend them off until you friend arrives to blow up the main gate and you can escape. you should only have to wait for a few minutes for him to arrive.

If your still stuck later i can rustle up a little video guide for that particular place. Failing all that go online and find someone to help you do it...

P:S make sure you keep prompting sheva to follow you as sometimes she'll try to be a hero and get killed

Nah I did it now thanks :D. Seems like whenever I make a thread asking how to do something I figure it out on my own within the next 10 minutes. I found some houses with ammo and grenades in them and managed to last. Still don't like how you need to equip grenades before you can use them, at least it should pause while in the inventory.

Use the hot keys to quick switch weapons not sure how to do it on pc but on the 360 you assigned then to the D-pad like the top middle item in your inventory would be up on the D-pad and the right middle would be right on the D-pad.

You should be able to do this on pc if using the 360 controller

Ah I'll check the controls thanks.

keep running is the advise the the first 'axeman' level, you cant defeat him so dont try, get to a high place run around for a bit and loot (theres also a machine gun to collect on the ground in a box so get that first)

yeah u can beat him i have done it several times with just the basic pistol. u need to blow up the barrels as he walks by them he'll drop a gold ring when he's dead worth 5k

I personally prefer playing this game with keyboard and mouse as it feels quite comfortable for me, even with the tank control mechanics, and aiming the cursor for precise shooting is much quicker.

The A.I partner is really horrendous and especially when he/she uses the most crappiest weapon at the most stupidest of times, like a measley pistol. So you have to remember to occasionally give and equip them the right items.

Online play is where the game really shines. So if you need any help at all, drop us your GFWL username and I'd be glad to help. I played this game religiously when it first came out for the PC last September, so it's any reason for me to get back into it!
