I've had this case for a while now but have only just come to use the front headphones port.

Not only is it a very dodgey fit for a headphone jack (very stiff and needs a shove to get it in else it'll pop out) but also the sound has a very annoying hiss in the background - and to make matters worse I can hear a whurring noise in the phones when the disc spins!

I have checked the wiring inside the case and the HD Audio is plugged onto the correct pins on the Mobo and it's all fine (no loose wires etc).

Is this a common problem with this case or do I just happen to have a dud? :( In which case it's probably too late for RMA and I'll have to live with it -_- or find some sort of extension to plug it into the rear port (Very annoying!)

Just tried my iPod headphones in my 902 and have the same problem when plugging them in. Really needed to push quite hard to get them in, but I don't think the port is wired up so didn't hear any audio from them.

In my case it's not really a problem as I'm never going to use the headphone port on the top of the case, this is the first time i've actually tried it! :p

Oh dear, looks like a design fault then *sigh*.
Will look to plugging in the back instead then :P Hmm, or some new speakers with a phone jack.

Cheers peeps!

I found the headphone jack on my Antec 300 to be very stiff to begin with but sorts itself out over time. Can't say I've had any issues with the sound coming from the jack right enough either when using onboard audio or after installing a Xonar. Is the cable for the front panel paired with any PSU wires perhaps that could be causing the interference you describe?

Could try a ferrite clamp on the front panel cables should get rid of the EMI/hiss

Or simply do what I do and have your case turned sideways the rear facing the monitor so getting to the back isn't an issue at all.

I seem to remember reading on this forum that the problem can be fixed by shielding the cable that runs from the sound card to the front panel audio connectors.

i think over use, the stiffness will go away.

For some reason, the drivers wouldnt let me swap the speakers around, and due to their unmovable setup, i had left sounds coming out the right speaker and vice versa. And the cable was too short, so i had to plug it into the front audio.

i just saved the money and made my own connector. chopped the jack off a broken pair of headphones, and the socket from a front panel off an old case. Three lengths of wire, a soldering iron and some heatshrink later, job done, worked perfectly

Yeah I have a lot of interference too. It's not too stiff to get in and out of though (excuse the wording ;)). I usually plug my headphones into the 3.5mm jack in my speakers though.

Yeah, I needed new speakers anyway so may go that route.

I suppose I could get hold of a ferrite clamp as suggested by some peeps. It's currently running from the mobo, not a sound card - I guess that could be an issue also.

the hissing noise from the front audio is often caused by all ports on the front panel using the same ground, you might find that if you unplug your usb ports and whatever else you have the hissing will most likely stop. As for the stiff audio port, i had a similar problem with my old lian li A-10
