he spent 600 for 22 odd frames per second he didnt need in that evga link. If you have the money to waste then you have the money to waste...
 
Confused.com

Click on the first and last links (which bring up both cards) and they say Pre-order. If you click on the 470 and 480 links and you are told 10+ in stock.

That's just the game with PC's.

Mid range is typically 150 or so and performs well, then you get the highwe end at like 250 or so, and then you get the high end at the low low price of your fingers and toes. If you want the bleeding edge, they'd like your limbs, and a deposit of one of your lungs! :p
