I was made redundant last week and i'm so bored. Ive been applying for a lot of positions and been to a couple of interviews. I have even cleaned the house ive been so bored! Would go to the driving range or something but I dont have a car. I was up at 8.30 this morning filling in jobseekers allowance online

How do people cope with not having a job all their life, it would drive me insane. What do they do apart from watch tv and sign on every 2 weeks?

I would imagine the ones who dont want to work go out with others who dont want to work, buy booze, smoke, go to the pub, eat out, go shopping and live the good life.

Generally they spend their time creating babies, aka saving up for a flat screen TV and a bigger house.

Oh no he did-unt! *finger click*

Get an Xbox and get really into a game or something :)

When I was jobless a few years back just used to exercise more and attempt to learn new things :)
Put the time to good use instead of sitting around all day wasting your time.

I am doing more exersice, but theres only so much you can do. Just made a smoothie and will exercise later. Might go down the park with a pitching wedge, some balls and a bucket

For the past month and a half just sat at home, watch tv, play xbox, look for jobs online, go to the gym, hand out cv's everywhere i can find.

Getting pretty bored of it tbh.

Use your spare time to pinch a motor for that drive. I'm looking for a new window cleaner. :p

Why don't you start on a hobby.

I think you have the wrong idea about what you actually do at a driving range.:p
ha ha - My apologies to OP but that's very good :)

@ OP I guess the trick is not to do the things which would spire into idleness by keeping active and keep to a routine. I guess it's easier said than done though. Hope you get sorted soon.

The first couple of months are a novelty, you work hard at finding a job, then after a few months you get more and more lethargic, to the point you hardly leave the house or do anything... I can see why people who are made redundant/don't have a job find it so hard to get back into one. After a while you lose all motivation for anything. :(

This is true. It's hard finding work at the minute, hell we're in a recession ().
