Put it on an auction site, you'll be surprised what people will pay for a dead gfx card.

But make sure you say it is dead :) Seen so many

"we don't know anything about pooters so are unable to test, but it was working... NO REFUNDS SOLD AS SEEN!!!!"

Despite having 5000 feedback points for selling IT gear lol

Not fair on the daft people out there :D

Oven trick

Worth a try. Otherwise, as others say sell it on the bay. Have seen many "broken" items go for a fair amount on there. You can understand why though, I have bought "broken" items on there e.g. I think it was one of those AMD FX55s or similar (which was a crazy good chip in its day) - only to find it works fine :p

What is it with dead video cards? CPU's seem to last forever (unless they have been massively overclocked) whereas video cards seem to die after 2/3 years.

Is there quite a market for dead gfx cards? I have quite a few, don't really want to dead with ebay though...

take all the heatsinks off and the pci plate clean up all the tc, prop it up on 4 or 5 scrunched up foil balls on a tray covered in foil and put it in the oven for 190 degrees for about 8 mins, I did this with my 3870x2 and it got rid of the major artifacts that wouldnt even let me boot into windows!! And I was able to pop some chips straight in to celebrate with!!
