So I got the dust covers out of the Antec 1200 to give its "regular" cleaning. But then I noticed this.

These liquid dots were in all the 120mm Antec fans. I do have a Xigmatek 120mm white LED fan as well but none of these residue were there.

This is second time I have seen this in my case (have cleaned it only twice)

This can't be good, cant it?

oil from the bearings? if their fluid bearings?

+1..

Is the fuild still wet? If you can smudge it and it leaves a gloss like finish then its def oil form the bearing. My friends thermaltake fan had done the same, then seized soild.

Or it could be guts from loads of dead bugs, that have been pulled into the fan..... lol

Most probably oil from the bearing! Not normal. Please write the Antec Support staff via email or through the website if you're in the US and have them send you a new fan.

Thanx for the replies guys!
I have email Overclockers uk but still no response. I will email antec as well now. But since my case is just over 1 month old shouldn't this be dealt with Overclockers ?

Also it is not just 1 fan it is with all the 120mm Antec (5) fans!

So OCUK have provided me with an email address and I have contacted Antec Europe RMA dept (jie Zhang).

Before knowing that I have bought this just over a month ago (for some reason he first thought I have bought this over 1 year ago) Jie said I have to send the fans to them, that's in Netherlands! I have to pay just over £35 to get them there and back! I can simply buy 5 good fans from another company for that amount.

But only after I said I bought this on 28th of may 2010 and pointed out that its just 1 month and 3 days to this day he asked me to contact the shop I have bought this from since its less than 1 year old.

I feel like I am being bounced around in this matter with out a clear answer.

well within warranty, you shouldnt pay a thing to get them back to you, and you should be refunded for your carriage to them.

but surely you deal with ocuk for the first year of your warranty? they should provide replacements

After some phone calls (Web Notes didnt help) OCUK have agreed to replace them if they are defective. i have cleaned them all up now and running them in full speed for the weekend to confirm if they are indeed leaking again. I have to be sure coz i have to send the whole case it seems - not just the fans! that means i will be with out a PC during that time.
