Cheap underwater camera?

Can anyone suggest a cheap underwater camera. Something like a waterproof point and shoot would be more than fine. It is for a present to someone who is moving to the Marshall Islands in the middle of the Pacific.

To be honest, you might be better off with a decent second hand Sony CyberShot, or similar, in a purpose made, quality waterproof housing.

What do you call cheap?

Olympus do some good ones for a couple of hundred. May be a bit too much I'm guessing?

The only problem I've found is that image quality on most waterproof cameras is pants compared to their siblings that need to be kept dry.

I've been researching waterproof cameras for months on the lead up to a canoe trip I'm doing this summer. I went for the Sony TX5 in the end but it's not all that cheap, the only one I can think of that's cheap is the Fuji XP10, it's not going to set the world on fire with the image quality or features but it does have 720p video and only costs about £130.

I've seen somewhere cheap waterproof bags that you just put your compact camera in and then take pictures while in pool or sea
