Hi how long does Arctic silver 5 take to cure im i correct in thinking its 200hrs?

How many degrees improvement can i expect after this period?

Just installed a new cooler and new tim.

200 hrs is indeed the curing period, generally temps will drop by a few degrees after this time. I noticed a drop of about 2c when i last used as5, been using arctic mx3 of late.

Thanks for the reply mate, yeah ive used MX2-3 before but i find it very hard to spread compared to AS5.

MX-3 = instant cure, although I do agree with the point about AS-5 being easier to spread. Very much of a muchness tbh. Although I find MX-3 to deliver better temps.

Exact same temps here compared arctic silver 5 to mx3 under thermalright archon if anything the as5 is 1c better than mx3 from my tests.

Just changed from mx3 35c idle to as5 32-33c idle and the as5 hasn't even cured yet all this has been tested in last 40 mins.

I went back to AS5 & monitored temps closely after the initial application. 10 days later temps had dropped from max 67c to 62c & have been stable since, pc was on for approx 4 hrs per day for 10 days. So while it does say 200hrs on the arctic site I found with a few hours use each day with regular on/off cycles optimum performance was reached in less than a fortnight.

i've been using as5 for years now and find that most of the temp drop happens in the first 48 hours (usually around 3 - 5 degrees) then maybe another degree or two after that time.
