What size is the stock AMD Phenom 2 fan ?

The H50 is a good bit of kit, but it is £67 and the Prolimatech Megahalems is £53 with a good fan.

At the same time, the H50 not only has the noise of the fan, but also the noise of the pump (which cannot be manually altered).

Considering they both cool as well as each other and you could get 2 quality fans and a fan clip for the megahalems and still beat it on price - I think the air cooling option is worth a look. Also, the H50 has an active component - the pump. This means there are moving parts that can fail, this obviously isn't an issue with an air cooler.

I cant use that cooler, it doesnt support AM3 boards

so that coupled with 2 fans plus the heatsink and I may as well have just bought the coolit eco or H-50 anyway.

I've been looking at the Coolermaster V8 as an alternative. It's not as bulky as I first thought and seems to get good reviews. It does actually look pretty cool too, especially when I get my windowed Dominator 690 II.
