Just graduated with first class honours!

Congrats man! It's always a great relief when hard work pays off. The evening after my last exam I had for my MSc. this year I actually came home to my gf, was fine for a couple of hours then just broke down. Just so many bottled up emotions I really couldn't tell whether I was relieved, upset or what. I just cried for 5 minutes straight and couldn't stop.

When I got my first I did the Joey thing to my mum.. <sad face> "Never mind.. you did your best" GOT A FIRST!!!!

No it's not. 70% is a first at mine.
It varies from University to University, year to year and course to course. The percentage is a little artificial - what matters is how hard the examiners have deemed your exams to be in comparison to previous years, and the number of people who did better than you.

And congratulations to the OP.

68% is a first here, it's the standard grade among all the uni's ;)

What uni? Must be a doss uni tbh with only 68%. :p

In actual fact I found out (after talking to my lecturers about my very high 2:1) that when you get to 68ish they look at your module grades and see if they can bump you up to one.

I guess that sort of means it's both 68 and 70% at my old uni.:p

Congrats Mr Six! I'm not sure if %ages is used most, but at my uni (Staffs Uni), year 2 accounted for 30% of the final grade and year 3 was 70%, then I think you had 10 credits (or 'CAT' points) per module. I can't remember fully off the top of my head though.
