2 x 5750 for £200

whats rest of your rig buddy, also what resolution do you play at, what games you play, do you like to use antialiasing??

Currently playing at 1440x900 but upgrading to 1680x1050 or even 1920x1080
Current rig:
i5 750 @ stock
Asus P7P55D Pro
2 x 2Gb 1600MHz RAM
600W OCZ PSU

How about looking for a pair of 2nd hand GTX 260s and SLI-ing them. Obviously not DX11, but will be faster than a pair of 5750s

Or buying one 5770 first, two is overkill for 1440x900. Then buy another to crossfire when you get a larger monitor :)

The thing with the 5750 is the price was always too close to the 5770 for less performance. Personally i would get a 5770 now and then buy another if you get a 1920x1080 monitor.

The plan is to get the monitor at the same time, but this was my original thinking. It was just seeing the 5750 at £100 that lead me to ask the question.

Im sure the 5770 crossfire is great when it works (5870 performance for less than a 5850) but when it doesnt and you have crossfire issues, your be pulling your hair out.

The 5850, is still the price performance king.

Get that, and you will never have to worry about crossfire issues!

I have had my two cards for a few months now and am yet to experience any of these 'issues' that people keep mentioning and I do play a fair few different games - am I just lucky or are people exaggerating?

What issues are you talking about exactly? Some people seem to say this but it's rarely based on any fact or actual experience. Crossfire is a very well matured setup and 5xxx crossfire users rarely have any problems. I have yet to encounter a game that crossfire didn't work in and i don't notice any microstutter if there is any.
