Hi Guys

Looking to purchase a MBP Unibody 13" or 15" , I've seen some good offers on the Apple refurb site but prices can still be fairly high.

I've seen some good deals on Gumtree also, now I would not be sending money to anyone on there I would want to collect and check it out myself before partly with any cash...

Has anyone ever brought or sold on there? I've got 271 feedbacks on the bay so fully understand how things work on there just not the other...

Any advice would be appreciated either way ;)

I know it's not actually what you asked, but remember that you can get 3% cashback using quidco if you purchase direct from apple. Not sure if this would also apply to refurbs, but it might be worth a try.

Lovely, all helps thanks ;)

I've seen a good deal for a 13" Unibody on Guntree, all looks above board, so I may pay a visit this weekend.... Ideally I'd like the 15" as I use a 15" at work and like the size

I brought a 16GB Ipad on gumtree for £360, I emailed the seller for some info and drove to his home with a friend just to be safe then spent 5 mins checking it to see if there was any damage etc before paying him.

with the insane ebay (10%) and paypal fees you can usually get a better deal on gumtree but you always have to be cautious. You could always arrange a place to meet instead of stepping into a strangers home.

I also brought a set of 5.1 onkyo speakers off gumtree without problems and safe a few £££

Recently I've been checking out the Iphones and Ps3 Slims for some sweet bargains.

Glad you brought that up about taking a friend with you, I'd take my brother, thanks for that, will flog my windows rig as I don't game enough (if at all) and check out the MBP's on gumtree, many thanks for sharing that ;)

I've never had problems with selling on forums.

That includes the MM here, or the trading section of AVForums. Just meet at a neutral location if you're selling, or be sure to test the item if you're buying. Take a witness and make sure you have established a name and contact number with someone, before the sale takes place*

*should you need to get back in touch with them in future.
