So last night my mate from work rang me very excited to tell me he has a new car .All i ask what it is and he says "you will see tomorrow".

I wait for him in the car park at work this morning and then i see him roll in and i couldnt quite bielive my eyes

Kia Picanto :D

a 1.4 litre 2010 Kia Picanto. He closed the door and walked up to me and said "what do you think" i didnt really want to hurt his feelings so i just say "yea its aright mate"

Ok so i looked inside first impresions were OMFG i think i almost snapped the doors off its that light and cheap. The inside i was kinda shocked that it wasnt complete crap but still rubbish by 2010 standards. Went for a ride and it was a proper bone shaker. On the outside it doesnt even have alloys. All this time he was trying to get some excitement out of me. After about the 20th time of him trying to subtly hint his car was awsome i snapped and told him how ****** stupid he is to spend 7k on a kia!!! He then returned with "its got a 7 year warranty" Then i find out he only put down £3k and the rest is financed. :o

I told him that my frankly boring and dull 2001 Ibiza knocks the crap out of his Kia which he replied "what!!! My car is a 10 plate" EPIC FAIL.

We have fallen out a little, he didn't like it when i told him what a **** he is. If he asked my option before buying it i could have helped him. If small cars that go A to B are his thing and he wants a new car i would have said at least go look at the Renault Twingo.

It amazes me how anyone can think that a Kia is an awesome car. Its probably just because he has a 10 plate

Cool story bro/

EDIT: After looking on Kia's site its obvious he has traded in his N reg Corsa under the special offer of getting the Picanto for £5695. No idea why he says he paid 7k

Cheap to insure and run.

I don't like Kia motors but then again I am certainly not proud and would drive one if I had to.

Here's to trouble free motoring for your mate.

They are everywhere! That or i10s.

Very true, i10s seem to be all over the place now.

Woman at work bought one, traded in their wreck of an old Corsa for one on scrappage so got 2k instead of 200 for that, but still.....

The Kia Picanto is a truely awful car, let him get on with it. It won't look all new and shiny after 6 months as the interior has the durability of a wet paper towel.

He's probably just bought it because he's never owned a new car and is just excited to be a first owner. Unfortunate be bought a complete shed.

Hoping one day I can too experience the feeling of buying a new car, only person I know in my family who's ever done it is my grandad. Even if it's a shed I imagine it feels nice for a few weeks.

As far as brand new small cars go the Picanto is one of the better ones, really. I don't think it was a particularly good buy but he could have done a lot worse.
