Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock

Erm, GH2 was the best one

Each to their own mate. :)

Personally i didnt think GH was anywhere near polished enough, with a decent enough tracklist till Legends of Rock came out. And after that it was just hit and miss.

I actually don't mind the Warriors of Rock tracklist, it's good for the metalheads like myself. Atleast half the songs listed should be fun to play, but i don't think that list is complete yet. I read somewhere that there is supposed to be something like 90 songs, but the rest of them could be crappy bonus songs that nobody has ever heard of.

I agree that it wasn't polished, but I prefer the game engine in it so much more than GH3. The timing window in that is just sloppy and far too easy to hit things, whereas GH2, you had to be spot on. I'm told they've improved it for the newer ones, but they still feel off. It's the one thing that keeps me away from GH, it's just too 'easy'.

Guitar Hero has lost it's way something shocking. Let's hope they bring it back into focus with this one.

Rock Band is still winning in my view. Guitar Hero Metallica was awesome, though.

No thanks, no sale here!

Firstly, if they've closed Red Octane who's doing the DLC? The patch support? I sense a dead-end title.

Secondly, track list is king.

Rock Band 3 for me. The fact that I can still play tracks from Rock Band 1 on it is amazing.

Agreed...

I heard something about them maybe doing a "Guitar Hero: Queen" - I asked myself, why would anyone go with Guitar Hero when Rock Band made such a great game (Beatles/GreenDay)

I think it is rock band queen?

I highly doubt that this will be able to compete with Rock Band 3 and their latest innovations. Activision a step behind, yet again.

Red Octane made the instruments, it's now a company called Beenox who are doing all the dlc and note tracking (they did it for Smash Hit's I believe)

Nope, it was definately mentioned as Guitar Hero, though saying that, Brian May did point out in the past there would be a Queen:Rock Band....which turned out to be a 10 pack, so he may be getting confused again.

The thing is, it will compete, and outsell Rock Band purely on the name basis. Guitar Hero is a far more well known brand purely due to advertisement. Rock Band was also the second of the two brands to be released, so consequently, there are a lot of people who think Rock Band copied Guitar Hero, when it is infact, the other way round now.

Oh really? I may have mis-read... Rock Band: Queen would be awesome!

The Rock Band series really captures the experience - whereas in the Guitar Hero series, it just looks like they add the characters and throw in a few exclusive videos =\

Couple of good songs, mostly crap though. Won't even bother with this one.

GH2 was the best and it's only gone downhill since then.

Tbh I'm a little fed up of all of these, it was great for 2/3 iterations but there is only so far you can take it.

That being said I did enjoy DJ Hero, felt like a fresh experience.

what a giant steaming pile of **** that tracklist is, why is it they insist on mixing decent songs with a load of rubbish? why can't we have a decent guitar hero, with decent musicians and decent songs. get rid of all this indie crap and such, give us a Guitar Hero: Guns 'N Roses or something, and put decent songs in, Nighttrain, You Could Be Mine, Yesturday, etc.

Anyone tried the demo? I thought it was really fun actually. Played it with drums and Guitar and the four songs in the demo were really fun to play. The sort of story thing they're doing is pretty cool as well, different powers for different characters might be fun.

Picked up Guitar Hero 5 on the cheap and that was really good as well, long career mode with some tough challenges.

I would love a Guns N' Roses Guitar Hero or Rock Band, they are literally my favourite band of all time (original line-up only mind you). I can't see it happening though, and if it did I'm guessing it would have the current **** GNR band members in it :(

On topic, I actually enjoyed the Warriors of Rock demo, I was really surprised that I liked it.
