Currently replaying this "old but gold" game and aiming to finish with above 90% completion. Now really hunting for oddjobs that I can do - some of the car races are impossible to win (at least for me) and I just ride off the cliff in Chiliad Challenge - so thought Bike school would be an easy required 0.54%.

How wrong I was, completed all the lessons up until the Stoppie, where you are supposed to tip the motorcycle up on its front wheel, freewheel through a line of cones then come to a stand just beyond. No matter what I try, as soon as I tip the bike forward, it stops on a dime. I've tried it with the XB360 controller and the keyboard, but cannot make the bike travel more than a short distance. Looking around a few FAQ's these said to accelerate then tap the brake as you push forward on the analog stick, but that isn't working for me - at all.

Guess if I can't get this right I'll have to see if I can finish another oddjob or two but this is really the last one I thought I could do.

Hmm, not sure as I haven't played it in years but once you are nearly in the stoppie position you can just try tapping the break periodically to try and keep your speed up.

Not a 100% sure tbh :p

Really ? I think they are the easiest of the game, it's just a matter of knowing the route. I usually win most with a mahoosive advantage over the AI's. Don't Think I ever did the bike school, however making a stoppie approaching at large speed, leaning forward, braking for a sec, then releasing the brake while still leaning forward iirc.

Just got this on PC again and plugged my 360 controller in. Anyone know of a decent config for the controller? Can't seem to get it working properly and using a keyboard just doesn't feel right!

It's been a while but I think to complete the stoppie challenge you need to get up a lot of speed, lean forward, hard-ish on the breaks to get on the front wheel, then tap the accelerator and try to stay straight.

The races were the most frustrating thing for me when I was trying to get 100% on the PS2 version. The bike races down Mount Chiliad made me want to kill myself. I spent hours shouting profanities at the tv :D

i did all those driving challengers with a keyboard but some i had to retry what seemed like a million times...

wasnt there one where you had to barrel roll a car? i seem to recall hating it

Well I've now managed to do the final flying race which I think will just let me scrape in over 90% after I do the final mission.

Re the car races, I find the long ones not too bad as once you get in front, provided you don't make any mistakes the AI doesn't catch you even if not going particularly fast. However with the AI in front of you it's a different story particularly in the shorter races around the cities.

Just completed the main game last night with 90.37% so reasonably happy with that result. It actually does take around two months of casual gaming (couple of hours a day) to play through and reach that level.

Now rummaging through my games collection for something else to do!
