Vtec Hondas.... is there much difference?

DC this FD that, where the hell did these code naming conventions come from? They mean nothing to me at all and I can never be bothered learning them. Which one is which?

Because it's easier than saying 'two-thousand-and-two to two-thousand-and-seven Honda Integra, you know that newer one'.

I would suspect Honda give out these designations.

DC5 is the last gen integra type R as in ci_newman's sig 2001-2006

FD2 is the latest JDM (Japanese) civic type R 2007-present

DC2 is the previous gen integra type R 1995?-2000?

I used to own a 2.2 VTEC (4th Gen) Prelude and now own a Civic Type-R (EP3)
I have been a passenger in an Accord Type-R a few times as my collegue has one.

Prelude and Accord Type-R engine wise are really similar they pull evenly. The accord feels faster because its not as soft and quite as a standard prelude. Prelude is more aimed towards a comfy ride up the motorway imo. It doesnt handle bad but it certainly is not as stiff as the Accord Type-R.

EP3 Civic is roughly 150kg lighter, stiffer suspension / chassis setup. It feels way more agile than the Prelude and pulls stronger.

Silly lowered dc2 in lipstick red with probably cheap rota wheels, no ta.

Standard 98 JDM DC2 in CW however

Go and drive an EK9 and EP3 back to back, then come in here and let us know how your new EK9 is:)

You tell him!

Stunning JDM that!

Maybe. GT3's still right though, it's about belting it down a B road - not fitting huge alloys, lowering it too far and polishing it for 12 hours before taking pics of it at a generic office.

How do the cars I originally ask about compare in terms of 0-60

Which is the prelude to have? ( not a rare one but one easy to find)

I can assure you it gets thrown around the B roads, and 15" alloys are not huge by any means...:cool:
