Hello there :)

For the past few months I've been using just a £6 mouse:

It's been okay for what I've needed, but now exams are over i'm starting to play quite a bit more TF2 and CS:S and I kind of feel that the mouse doesn't real move around the screen that well. Would I notice a difference then if I were to invest in the MX518? :p

If it helps, I have the Steelseries Mini Mousepad..

I hope that makes sense :)

The mouse is a lot bigger in size than the one you currently have, this will increase the comfort for longer sessions. The mouse is also very precise in comparison.

I have an MX518, it's decent - but the 10 quid cheap brand mouse I had previously with 800dpi was my preferred mouse before it broke.

Expensive mice don't make good players.

I would go back to my old mouse in a heartbeat were it working.

Only issue with the MX518 is that it speaks to you if you listen to the red laser. :(

ha, just got this!! wonder how many other mx518 owners have read this and stuck it to their ears!! :p

question tho, what were you doing that made you discover the mx518 speaks??

Well I always keep my mobile near my mousepad..

Joking aside, I read it somewhere that theirs made a squealing sound. I guess it really is like a mouse. ^^

lol I made a thread on it thinking it was a defect and then about 15 other people realised theirs did it too

Great mouse for CS:S. Ive had mine for 6 years now, on numorous times ive thought time for an upgrade, bought the newest ad shiniest razer only to sell it because i prefer the mx518. Its solid as a rock aswell, over six years mines have a fair few coffee's spilt on it and its still going strong. The best spent money ive ever spent on the pc.

Just got my MX518 about an hour ago, brilliant mouse, Logitech also have great customer support. Thanks to this thread I did put it up to my ear to check though :P
