Amazing medical conditions

When I have a particularly bad migraine, I get synaesthesia like symptoms such as tasting colours and in one occasion seeing sound. Its very trippy and I don't like it.

Not really a condition, as I can't say I 'suffer' from it, but:

During the day when there's some sunshine, if I look up at the sky, I sneeze.

Not sure if it's even recognised or has a name, but I've only ever met a couple of other people this happens to.

This happens to my wife. I'm sure she put a name to it once, but I can't remember (and she's still in bed, so I daren't ask :p).

Lol - man up and wake her up!

So, I did what I should've done ages ago:

From Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photic_sneeze_reflex

Photic sneeze reflex also called Autosomal Dominant Compelling Helio-Ophthalmic Outburst (ACHOO Syndrome), is an autosomal dominant hereditary trait which causes sneezing (due to naso-ocular reflex ) when suddenly exposed to bright light, possibly many times consecutively. The condition affects 18-35% of the human population.

ACHOO syndrome - you couldn't make that up!

Ahh well, at least I know now. I don't get it with cold air or spicy food though.

Cheers,

When I usually feel I need to sneeze but struggle to, I find if I look up at something bright it makes it happen, not exactly the same but similar

I am left handed but right armed, and left footed yet right legged. Cross-dominance they call it I think, not actually that unusual though?

Not really a condition, but more of a inconvenience. Every time i sneeze i dont just sneeze once or twice, more like 9-10 times, my record being 15. Because of this i have had to master the art of sneezing with my eyes open, because its a bit dangerous when it happens while driving. And also with me having rather bad hayfever, i end up sneezing about 100 times a day..... already cracked 4 ribs this year :(

Hmm, I've never had a headache in my life? But I don't think thats particularly rare.

Very dangerous. One of my tutors at school was nearly killed when a van driver veered into her lane and pushed her off the road apparently after he sneezed while driving.

Yeah, my sister is like that but not as bad as you though. Her sneezes are usually in blocks of 5.

I can taste certain things just by thinking about them.

I have no idea if it's a recognised medical condition or not, but it's certainly weird.

I have this and my hives come up about 5mm off the skin - http://www.cholinergicurticaria.net/2008/10/23/what-is-dermographism-dermatographic-urticaria/

I have to be very careful when scratching because I can look like a self harmer and if I rub my eyes I look like I've been in a fight.

Wow thats exactly what I developed about 2 months ago! Still got it, but I've been taking anti-histamines to stop them developing.

I'm going to try writing abusive notes to people and see if they notice them...

Does yours actually raise up off the skin or is it flat on the skin?
Apparently 5% of the population have the flat condition but it is rare to have the raised hives condition.
