Not so much Facebook (although I have been contacted) but when I'm gigging and then it leads to people contacting me on Facebook.
Last night was an example where a bloke I worked with for 10 years was standing there in a trance watching me on stage because he never knew I did that.
Believe it or not only a handful of people on a factory of 2,500 knew I've played in bands all my life because I always kept it to myself (it's only here I talk about it to wind certain people up).
About 3 months ago I was in a pub in Cheadle and 4 ex workmates who I'd worked with for over 20 years stood there gobsmacked and the first thing I get is "Why didn't you tell us?".
Tonight I'm gigging to 3,000 people in a field and I know there will be ex workmates/friends who will see me doing my hobby for the first time and then they make contact.
There is one person I would love to make contact with but I haven't seen him for 36 years.
He was my very best friend from the age of 4 to 16 and we were inseparable.
The stupid thing is he lives about 3/4 mile from me and I quite often make a detour and drive up his street but I've only ever spoke to his Mum and he was out (yeah, at 52 he still lives with Mummy).
I'd love to see him before I die so why I don't go and knock on his door is beyond me.
