Though there are advantages to making an online account.
I reinstalled windows and forgot to backup my save games.
When I started up Dirt 2, and logged into windows live, it restored my game perfectly.
That didn't happen with Batman AA, another GFWL game, so I guess it's up to the devs whether they support that feature or not.
 
I'm happly playing DCS: Black Shark, Arma 2, Wings of Prey, Company of Heroes Blitxkrieg mod, Men at War, Team Fortress 2 and FM 2010.

Not one console port!!!! See it can be done!

if only it was Red Dead, Alan Wake, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2, infamous 2, Grand Turismo 5, Forza 3

Or even better, imagine if it was Half-Life 3

Sadly, these type of A rated exclusives don't happen these days.

nah played red dead on my xbox for 10 mins and it was meh.

Half life has been done to death.

GT5, I play RBR and Live for Speed.

Uncharted 2, not bought that but have uncharted one i'm still playing through.

Infamous one demo was meh, a guy with lighting fingers, wtf?
 
One game i have i know will never go to console . Distant guns Jutland. One verry small corner to hide in :D away from the console port virus ..

Always amazes me the amount of people who don't realise you can do this.
 
Plenty of cross platform games are fine on the PC. The game which the OP mentions, Dirt 2, runs superbly on PCs as do all Codemasters games - superior to their console counterparts in fact which are lower res and locked to 30fps.

So in summary, this is a silly thread :)
 
all it does it links your xbl account and GFWL accounts, doesnt do anything in game, i think i have played one online match tbh.
 
What a silly thread Dirt 2 works soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better on PC than console lol::)


DX11 60FPS looks 10x better than console what more do you want.:cool:

As for GFWL never had a problem with it.:p

It does not look 10x better, it looks about 1.2 x better. Some modern games look 10x times better than PS1 games.
 
my complaint was`nt about the games ,it was about windows live. Both games in question , dirt2 and bioshock 2 play fine .

Windows live when first encountered is very confusing especialy in dirt 2 were the mouse cursor does not work when clicked over "next" . Being a console port you put you cursor over the comand and press enter :confused:. Until you know what your doing its trial and erorr . and after a while i discovered you could have an ofline account . i`m sure if you trail around the microsoft site for a couple of hours,you might be able to find some documentation ??? But as for Microsoft making thing easier for pc gamers ..:confused::(:confused:..

On a + side bioshock2 is looking a good £10 spent , and i`m sure when i get my g25 pluged in dirt2 will be a blast too ;)

1) You can save
2) Just because you are using GFWL doesn't mean you have cross platform multiplayer...

About your others comments, you can click the next with the mouse normally. It just needs to be a little bit lower down. You don't need to move with the mouse and hit enter with the keyboard.

Honestly you are making a mountain out of a molehill. There are many things in life to get exercised about but this isn't one of them.

I am fussy but GFWL is very slick and easy to use in my experience.

I have it al sorted now :) I was comenting on my first experience with windows live when not expecting it . Or being asked if i want it :(. but hey , such is life ... both games are running fine , wich is most important ..
