Early GTX 460 benchmarks & info...

The 192bit 768MB card he has seems to be faster than a 5830, unless i'm misunderstanding the scores (perfectly possible, i never have used any benchmark software).

Can someone who knows about Vantage confirm?

224 shaders, wow that is one dumbed down card, can't see it costing more than £130 for the 192 bit version, in fact going by specs it should be priced below £100, then again this is Nvidia were talking about.

GPU-Z doesn't recognise it properly, the guy said he has no idea what the actual shader count is yet.

Was hoping this would be a good option for SLI, but would need to be significantly cheaper than the rest of the 400 series. Just can't see it being as low as £130 :(

Meh, that's all yank talk.

That list you quoted is interesting and I was going to believe until I saw it's 6th best selling product was the ATI Fire GL lol, it kind of loses all creditability at that point. Also logic would suggest you would see at least one 5770, 5850 or 5870 in there. I think you will find those lists are published by what products aren't selling and need shifting pronto as cash is tide up in dead weight stock.

I love how you feel the need to justify your criticisms of nVidia, as if you know you'll be called on it if you don't. ;)

Yea..lol.

Well i'm still totally reliant on nvidia because of crt/120hz but i'm also a noise nazi and quite like good value too so you can only imagine how frustrated i am currently.

Want to wager the ale on Q2 2010 JPR results instead?

Didn't Q1 JPR show AMD taking about 8.5% market share away from the big N?

I would wager that AMD continues to take market share away from Nvida but by a lesser margin, even with the launch of the new Fermi cards I don't think it will be enough to stem the tide. First supply issues at the start and now they have stock at most etailers you don't see many cards GTX470/480 on pre order which suggests Nvidia despite all reports to the contrary don't have any manufacturing difficulties or there just too expensive.

The other tell tail sign is AMD can afford to reduce prices if they were under pressure from their rivals but that hasn't happened so far (sadly). Until Nvidia designs a chip with a smaller die they will always be more diffcult and costly to manufacture which at the end of the day is where AMD has the edge on nvidia - forget OpenCL, eyefinity, Physx, 3D, HD audio bit streaming and all those other gimmicks cost is the crucial factor and right now Nvidia is losing that battle.

Simple fact is fermi is overpriced, they are sitting on the shelves being reduced in price every so often, they are now throwing just cause 2 in with them to try and shift a few, if they were selling they would not be going down in price and etailers having just cause 2 thrown at them to help shift em lol.

Ffff....fffaaa...fffan....nah too easy. :)

they're a pretty decent sample statistical sample

I'll work with this instead.

Ever read up on statistics?

You should...

There are 24 fermi cards accross the entire 65/70/80 range on the site and 60 ati 5000 series offerings.

People want a fermi they can have a 80, 70 or 65.

Ati they can have a 5870, 5950, 5850, 5770 ect. hardly surprising that individual cards sell less. In addition that list doesnt mean anything as to HOW MANY are selling, every man and his dog might already have a 5000 series. Yes they turn over 80 mil. But did they turn over 70 million in ati stock in september? Silly example but the principle works.

To close sir. Your useage of statistics is fail.
