To shoot or not to shoot?

Grow a pair. Try living in the country side, it never stops from 3.30am onwards. You get used to it. I quite like it most of the time.

Grow a pair of birds?

I lived in the country side for years, and the birds there were fine, in fact, I still love the sound of crows in the morning - ahhhh, happier days.

Im not sure a .177 gas pistol would be powerful enough to kill them, and the last thing you would want is for it to fly away injured. Also if they are protected birds you could be in big trouble, that and you are suppose to be (I think, forget the exact figure) 15m away from public access / property when using an airgun.

It’s not something I’m looking forward to, but seriously, you cannot imagine the noise these things make, it’s loud enough to drown out the TV, PS3 and, believe it or not folks, a 360s fans! ;) :p

Of course the birds make this noise 24 hours a day. Someone needs to get a grip. Do you actually live at the bottom of the garden. Ask the fairy bird mother to tell them to be quiet. :D

Try asking people more skilled in these situations for help (like the RSPCA) rather than ocUK.
You could make a scarecrow type thing to keep them away or spend some money and get one of those new fangled air blaster type things that farmers use nowadays.
Don't shoot them though, that's just nasty.

It's true. Only a cougar magnum could penetrate their thick outer shell.

Alternatively, create a remote control bird by hiring the services of the guy who's making robocain, and challenge them to a fight to the death.

The last thing you want is orphan birds. They will make every bit as much noise as these two and then some. A few years ago there was an abandoned nest in a tree near our office window and it was hell for a week.

Also I believe it's illegal to disturb nests in the nesting season and you may well be doing that.

Get used to it. What would your response be if you got a couple of noisy neighbours. Machine gun them to death?

I'm presuming you have a licence for this "gun"

Not a bad idea! In fact, there's a village the other side of Wootton Bassett that put these by the side of the road dressed as the police - I think it's an attempt to get people to do 30 in a 40... or crash (one or the other). Using my council estate honed ***** skills, I may go an 'borrow' one :D

What sort of birds are they as if they are starlings you can blast away till your hearts content.
Owt else you'll have to wait till they move on when the season changes.

Indeed, most 'garden' birds you really shouldn't be shooting at full stop.
Let alone discharging firearms within a builtup area.
Also might want to make sure the handgun isn't currently illegal, I'm not sure how much force a 0.177 gas thingy would generate.
