Headbutting someone is over the top but we don't know how aggressive the pushing was.

OP might have been defending himself. Either way it isn't exactly by the book behavior for the police.

It is all about what you can prove, if you have witnesses then make a complaint.

I'd blame the people that beat Haz up originally for this. As, if that had never happened, then he wouldn't have behaved like he did most likely. Should've just hit him once and hopefully that would've quelled the situation a bit. There was no need to continue it i imagine unless he went for you.

I don't agree with saying that kind've stuff to the police though, and you were let off lightly. I'm not a big fan of the police either after nothing was done when i was assaulted by a big group a few years back (i was sober and minding my own business) in the high street with CCTV around.

Alright ive sobered up now and removed the silly pig comments. im still not particularly impressed with how i was treated but yes i did get off lightly which is nice, like i said before the only reason i lashed out was because a few years back i was walking home through town about 3am and some lad comes up to me and grabs my food out of my hand and crushes it! i basically say wtf and then get punched in the face twise and fall and crack my head open, the guy gets arrested and then gets off with a caution, i wasnt given the option to press charged as this guy last night was. I spent the night in hospital and it took me a week to leave my house as my face was so swolen.
THIS is why i reacted like i did last night.

I only got off cus the guy for some reason didnt want to press charges, nothing to do with the copper that nicked me.

Good for you Mr OP, ignore these saps that don't know what its like after the 1st fight and spend their entire life being walked over and belittled.

You seriously think it matters if someone you don't know, and never will belittles you? "Whatever, bye." situation gone.

He wants to fight? Push him away, and keep pushing him away until the bouncers remove him.

Only another bevied up waste of oxygen starts a proper fight, the rest of us who can exercise a bit of self discipline wish that we could go out for a drink and enjoy the evening without people who want to start a fight acting like gorillas.

Back on my mate's 18th, a few lads came from other cities to come to the party, a few were underage and the police came and found them in the garden on the venue drinking beer from a off-license...

The police came, got them out, and sent them on their way home when they over 40 miles away with no money and it's about 2am. So they walk around the corner abiding the officer's instructions... then they get jumped, get beaten up and then their phones etc stolen off them.

And as for the fight, people lose themselves when they're drunk, OP probably regrets headbutting him etc...

Just get high.

The amount of "do-gooders" on here make me lol.

Well based on your past experience I can understand how that might of contributed to the way you reacted at least, but I still think it was wrong, we all make mistakes though, your lucky the chap didn't press charges, I hope going forward you learn not to react in such a way every time someone becomes confrontational with you, and being that your a fire fighter although admirable isn't just cause to let you off above anyone else, maybe I'm old fashioned but I have respect for people in the services and I expect them to set an example of good behaviour for others.

I'd learn a few decent body punches if i was you as it's far better to drop them without leaving any marks. ;)

lol. i love how the op came here to tell his story, to get some support.

and he ends up getting abused and called names. :D

what i meant is that he thought everyone would be on his side. congratulating him on beating the **** out of the guy.

That's not the impression I got, looked like he was drunk and just wanted to vent his 'cool story bro'

this is why you dont post on forums :D

especially with some scenior members being police on here it was never going to be a good ending :p

to the op if you were going to be attacked most people would probably try to defend themselves. you did this . it comes down to you get a kicking or him. he got the end product.

you can walk away or get glasses on the way out to many things to way up in a small amount of time.if you would have been glassed and put that on here everyone would have been oooohh sorry to here about that should have lamped him or some other crap . you cant win so if any event like this happens just dont post on a forum :D

as for the "pigs" they let you off or couldnt be bothered seen both instances like this before a few times u got lucky.

there is a thread on this forum called police applications and you calling them pigs.

lol not a bright idea

Personally running to the internet to tell everyone was your first mistake! Why you feel the need to share such an incident, not least after beer is odd and when you look at the language you used it's typical alpha male and perhaps gives people an inkling to your mindset. Sadly going out on the town today is not like it was when I was a youth, the sense of aggression in the air palpable, something very rare from when I was younger in most places and is not something I feel particularly comfortable with but then I'm nearly 43 and have done my 'getting smashed in town at the weekend' and tend to go into town with mates rarely these days. When I do it's not to the hot beds of youths puffing their chests out.

Having said all of this you can't get away for the fact that sometimes a bloke needs a slap, for that is all he will understand. It doesn't apply to all blokes, in fact if applies to very few and most people who have never had or given a slap will never understand it but them's the facts and walking away on occasion can get you a good hiding. It's nice to turn the other cheek, less so in A&E when you feel belittled and injured, thankfully something I've never had but something I have seen happen. It's a distasteful thing and best avoided and certainly amplifying it on the internet is to be avoided. I wouldn't head butt anyone mind, the act of a thug in my eyes even if the bloke was being tool and your reaction to how the police dealt with you shows your attitude is driven by ego first. Walk in their shoes before you criticise as they have a tough job to do and sometimes get it wrong, I think they deserve some slack myself as I'd rather have them cleaning up scum and getting it wrong now and again than ignoring it and leaving the ever increasing scumland that our cities and towns become on a Friday and Saturday to fester and erupt.

Being humble in such circumstances is by far and away the right way to deal with such distasteful incidents in my eyes.

i tell him im a fireman

I imagined that as a member of the emergency services you would hold some respect for the police, after all you are likely to be working alongside them through your fire brigade duties.

Don't think your Station Commander would be impressed with your antics and attitude.
