The rear arch on my 2006 Fiesta is beginning to rust. I'm suprised as it's only four years old. It's out of warranty, but does anyone know if Ford have an extended rust / corrosion warranty which is longer?

If not, will a normal bodyshop fix it?

Thanks

That's not right. My 10 year old Focus just about has rust, if you can call it that. There is no harm in taking the car to Ford and asking them if they will sort it.

Let me guess you don't wash or clear out under the arches when you wash the car?

Either way I'd be supprised if your car wasn't covered by an extended corrosion warrenty.

I wash and polish the whole car and don't miss anything. I suffer from OCD and even the slightest things annoy me so nothing gets missed. I did start getting it washed every two weeks by a hand car wash for about three months this year, though. The rust is only on the one arch and not on the others.

I'll take it to Ford and hope for the best. If not I'll just have to take it to a bodyshop and get it sorted.

Yep. Good luck.

If it's on the side of the filler cap check the filler cap seal & make sure none is leaking out. Seems weird it's only one side & there has to be something causing it so early. Could be a window or hatch rubber thats split letting water leak down or summit.
I am only Guessing here but like I said summit has caused it.

It is on the side of the filler cap! I'll have a check today to see if anything is leaking. Although I'm not too sure how.
