Hello guys

Well I am disappointed with my W995 and it seems to have got a annoying fault. not sure if its it or the sims through, but still its ethoir a new phone or a ipod. Personally I would take a phone that can do everything. it seems to be saying that 2020 is calling me...which it can't be as I think thats info hotline.... also a few other things annoy me about my W995, for music its a awsome phone, but its for multimedia this is were if falls flat on its face sort of. internet is clumby with the no touch screen and small screen.

I have done research on this as well phones I will not consider is the Nokia X6/3 they are built to a price it seems, and the UI looks slow and clunky

Stuff I need
a decent cam (over 5meg) with light/flash
multi media phone in other words it is very very good at it can support a wide range of file formats and the sound/video quality is to a decent standard.
I will be using the internet so the bigger the screen the better.
if its a touch phone I want it responsive sort of like iphone/HTC/ and others but not annoying or limiting to use.
last and final note a phone that does not looks cheap...

I m willing to pay up to £300 or more if I need to, I won't be getting it yet till I get very mad with my W995 or find out its faulty or both :p and I m skint atm

thank you for reading this.

Also when you recommend me a phone please say why you think it meets my needs. :) or i m left asking why

x10 , big screen , great camera , great sound quality , can chose from a big range of media players on the android market (as with any android phone)

the only negative is you have to put up with a 9month old 1.6 version of android for a few months . but apart from 'live wallpapers'' i still havent found a negative of this even after weeks of asking the question on here

youd be daft not to get an android phone though.

Haha at the andys. I wait for the day they finally change phones :p. Although this time with the camera and multimedia requirements I think the recommendation is potentially right.

X10 is also available at ~£300, while the Desire you will be looking at ~£350.

I used some normal LCD screened phones over the weekend again (HTC Magic, HTC HD2) after having the Desire and it's immediately apparent how inferior LCD tech is to OLED.

IMO if you've not used a N1 or Desire or Galaxy S and you have your eyes set on a non OLED phone then don't look at those phones :p

Every picture / video I have seen with the Desire looks washed out.

You're right :(

I just took these severely washed out pictures using my Desire just now.

Look at how washed out they are :( :(

Oh and a washed out video from not long ago:

The camera is ok on the Desire as far as cameras go on phones, here is a test one of the developers over at xda has of 720p on the Desire, its important to note this is on a very early build.

@ Khaaan! how did you get the black theme look on the forums.

One thing I wish the Desire had is image stabilization - all of my images end up looking ever so slightly blurry. Khaan yours look very sharp though - do you just have very steady hands or was the phone sitting on something?

It's a great camera but it can't handle low light very well and the flash is a bit overpowering, in good light with a steady hand the photos are easily comparable in quality to a normal compact with the same image resolution.

With flash if you dial the exposure down a stop or so it's not overpowering but like all things onboard flash wise I don't use it because it's too direct and unflattering for whatever you're shooting.

OcUK Dark theme v3 from Userstyles.org (Firefox)

Years and years of DSLR usage gives you steady hands :p

@nick thanks I may well consider when I get the funds available to me ( I need to work more :p) also the out come of my W995.

the next thing is I will use it for everything, camera, as a Mp3 etc thats why I spec it like that.
How long would the battery last on android headsets. I heard the X10 is down to hours and the desire is not much better ethoir.

About the size of the unit, means I cycle it has to be able to fit in the back pocket of a jersey. and be fairly light

at the end of the day, I don't mind what it runs just as long as it serves it purpose as a phone and as a multimedia device even if I have to charge the thing after 24 hours :p

oh yeah I forgot I will be on pay and go I got a rare tariff and I cba with changing numbers.

my pay and go traiff is text and internet for £15 per month

As standard my Desire would just about last the day, now running a custom rom it can last 2 days.

The camera is very good, works fine as an MP3 player too.

Weight isn't that bad and it's nice and slim too.

Just let me know if you want mine.

Thanks Khaan for the theme i use chrome and it supports that also.

Some pics i just took in the direct sun very quick snaps.
