O2 Simplicity £15 a month smartphone deal + £100 Cashback

I was going to do this but its the newer style tariffs where data is only 500MB and you get 'unlimited' texts but you have to pay for MMS instead of it coming out of your allowance

for 6.60 a month id take that hit :P but yeah 500mb data is pretty poor....especially on an android phone.

Not a bad deal. About the same as my T-Mobile one. £15 for 300 mins, unlimited texts and 3gb data. It's on the T-Mobile website and you get a T-Mobile Pulse for free and I think it's £35 cash back through quidco. Only down side is it's 24 months instead of 12.

Mine still hasn't quidco tracked yet. But to be fair I should give it until atleast Monday/Tuesday due to weekend and working days.

I signed up for the contract about a week ago and its still not tracked either. :(

Peve have you opened an earnings enquiry? I want to know that this will track and work asap as I want to start using the SIM. £15 per month is a bit different to £6.60 and would sway me to getting a contract with a free phone instead.
Mine has not even shown up at all in quidco even as a pending transaction. No sign at all.

To the OP, has yours tracked?

Hi,

Its still not shown up on quidco and I can't submit an earning enquiry until a month after the transaction. :(

I made a thread like this last month and nobody even replied! :p

Was the £100 offer on then? You should hop onto moneysavingexpert forums and post in the dedicated quidco follow up thread and complain. More people would spark more of an investigation I guess.

I have some potentially bad news about this deal. I think the reason mine may not have tracked (and may not at all) is because O2/Quidco have been a bit naughty and misleading. I think when they say £100 cashback on £15+ 12monthly sim only deals, they mean only on tariffs where the monthly cost is £15 per month outright and NOT where you start with the £10 per month deal and then use the £5 monthly internet add on. They seem to have changed the tariffs very craftily to make this delibarately misleading to me. It used to be that the £15 per month tariff included the internet bundle, but now they have all gone £5 per month cheaper and you add it on separate. So in order to qualify, I think you might have to get the £15 per month + £5 internet. Which is now £20 per month minus £100 cashback = £11.66 per month. OK, but not £6.60 per month which is what I was expecting. If this is the case I'll be extremely annoyed and even though £11.66 per month is a good deal, I'd have to cancel and sign up again just to get it which would be a farse, plus I don't need 600 minutes a month.

Can someone confirm if they managed to get this to track having selected the £10per month deal (3oo mins UL texts) whilst adding the £5 internet?

Cheers

The iPhone tariff on this page - http://shop.o2.co.uk/recommended_tariffs specifically states it's £15 all included, no mention of the internet being £5 more so I assume if you pick that they couldn't argue it's not valid.

Interesting, and thanks for pointing that out. What are the chances of it working on the iPhone specific one I wonder. Probably some catch there too. More to the point, what is the difference between a simplicity 12 month for iPhone and for a smart phone? I take it the sim will work in a smart phone so why do they refer to it as being for iphone?

^
The iPhone contract adds visual voicemail, all £15+ simplicity deals should get the £100 cashback though.

Cool, in that case I will give it till the end of the week to track and then if nothing, will cancel and go for the iPhone one. I take it iPhone one still works in non iPhone phones right?

Whenever I select the £10 simplicity deal with 500mb free internet - I see no add-on for 500mb internet at £5, only £10 and £15 for the 1gb and 2gb add-ons.

How do I select a tariff with 500mb internet? (I'm probably missing something completely silly!)

Cheers for the links though OP :)

Update from quidco rep:

" If you buy a £15 smart phone tariff- the checkout will split it as £10 and £5 add-on but this will not affect cashback. I hope this answers your query. "

Well, pardon me for my stupidity.... I was selecting the "Simplicity - 12 months" instead of the "Simplicity for smartphones - 12 months"

It has all become clear... :P

Just to add a general point on Topcashback and Quidco.

I've used both over the last couple of years and overall made about £300 from them together.

I've noticed that maybe 50% of stuff didn't track but after waiting the set time and submitting an enquiry I always got my money. You just have to be patient, it sometime takes longer than the average times.
