XFX 5970 black edition.

Cant remember 100% but under Air i was getting about 920/1250 (100% fan) day to day i think i used about 900/1200.

Chilled water i can get 1090/1295 day to day i use 960/1250


Edit: Just found a screen shot (Air cooled ) @1000/1250 That was a BM test Crysis.

@ 900/1155 in BC2 vsync off it reaches 85°C at times, average is about 83°C on the hottest core. Thats with auto fan speed, with Afterburner you can keep that under 80 no problems and it still quieter than the 4870x2 IMO.
 
Sorry if this is a bit of a hijack post but i just bought one of these cards 2 days ago and have installed ATi Catalyst control center but for some reason it says my graphics card was unlocked back in april!? Should it be like that on a new card??

My last card when i bought it new it was locked!

Also is there not a manual fan control function on these's cards to set what fan percentage you want and a temperature display?

Some nice gains i might replace my 4870x2 at some point in the next few months.
 
The Hottest i have seen mine was about 94c (Bm) and about 80c day to day.
With the chilled water its 6c and 13c 960/1250



Gittins: You need to flash the Bios.Mine was the same untill it was flashed.

Mind if I ask you the rough costs for one of those chilled kits? I've never heard of them before. I've only wc once and that was years ago with perhaps what you might call a starter kit. That cost £90. :D
 
Basic kit Water pump ( £20 fish place) Water block £30 Some pipe and lagging and a Beer cooler from the Bay! Job done! :) I have it cooling 5970 and the i7. Only problem is you will need to paint your Mobo/GPU with liquid tape (like you do with Phase change) as you will get condensation start to form after about 2 hours game play.
 
Haha I got a few of them spare from work! Do they sell well? Think I go I massive cellar cooler aswell lol maxi 1000 or something!

In blackpool, it's massive though, i'll get some pic's to show you, getting the new cellar cooler in the next couple of days so gona tell them to leave this for me to get rid of as it was fitted by coors and were no longer with them.
