New wheels

BBS LM's yummy! Are they reps? I'd get some genuine ones if they werent 3/4k a set

Looks ok, bit like a half hearted effort though. To pull off the look you are going for it needs to be much lower. Oh, and bin the silly 'D' plates too :/

It will handle like a pig I'm sure, will ride like a pig too and go like a milk float, but then I guess that's not the point is it, it's 'street' so cool.....I read somewhere. Your car old boy, if it works for you don't give a stuff what I think. ;)

Why didnt you get tyres that fit on the wheel properly?

Because otherwise he'd not be able to run that amount of poke.

I don't know why I bothered answering that though, it's obviously just a troll post.

How is that a troll post, they look like they dont even come to the edge of the rim.

And what is "poke" when its at home?

Yes, they do (just):

Handles and goes pretty well given it's a fwd nose heavy b5 chassis, but I wanted to see what I could do to improve it as VW purposely made it a wallowy, understeery rep mobile:

KW V2 with adjustable damping (only marginally firmer than the OEM Eibach/Sachs setup but then I have the dampers on 2 (1-5, 5 is max stiffness)
Upper S6 and lower RS4 tie bars
Neuspeed rear & Eibach front ARB's
Plus the LM's & 996 monoblock calipers have removed plenty of unsprung weight vs the previous wheels & brakes.

It's never going to handle like a BMW or Porsche but then I don't expect it to, but it certainly doesn't handle terribly :)

Part of me likes it. Part of me wishes it has at least 200bhp to match the looks. Does it?
Yes, @ 210

Been there, raised it 20mm as couldn't even get out of my street once the council decided to put speed humps on the main access road.
Plus got sick of replacing front tyres every 3k and it bottoming out on the bump stops.
If I did it purely for looks I wouldn't have gone for 18" wheels, 19's make the whole job so much easier but slow the car down too much.
Previous height & winter wheels:

'D' plates only on the front as I haven't got round to ordering a new one yet, it'll get replaced when the front gets painted.

Well obviously they are or the car would be sitting on the rims with flat tyres.

Poke should be fairly obvious, it's how the wheels poke out of the arches.

Ah i can see that now, leaves the rim a bit unprotected dosent it.

Be careful you dont get a copper drive you mad for sticking out too far :)

Oh shut up i was only asking, and sorry i dont share your expertise in how to chav a car.

No tyre will protect the rim if you ram them into kerbs as the rubber will flex away from the kerb leaving the wheel exposed to damage, this is pretty much a given with any tyres lower than approx 50 profile however I prefer to engage my brain and park properly :)

No issues at all as the entire tread (& half the sidewall) are inside the arch which are the requirements under the construction & use guidelines.

Looks awesome in 'winter spec', needs that lowness again.

edit - had a look at those KW's. Rubbish design huh, even the 'high end' v3's, lower the car by dropping the spring down over the damper. Lower you go the less travel you have :/ No wonder it hit the bump stops all the while.

I sorta get the whole euro scene thing, but i'm sorry those wheels do not look right sitting that low with stretched tyres on.
